We have a variety of membership options but our most common are for youth members who attend our coaching sessions, with membership reductions for siblings. We also welcome adult and family members who are not part of our youth coached membership but would welcome the chance to join a family friendly club. All members need join the National Governing Body, British Cycling, as membership includes personal liability insurance which we consider a necessary benefit of membership. If joining as a non-cycling member then you can join as a British Cycling fan, otherwise chose the membership option to suit your riding.

Weekly sessions

The club season at Preston Park runs from March-October. We run two sessions on a Saturday morning to allow riders of all age groups access to, and time on, the track every week. These are as follows:

Under 12’s and all new members:

9.00-10.30am – this will be a fun, skills and racing session.

Over 12’s and other invited members:

10.30-12.00pm – this will be a training and race practice session

Those in the 9.00-10.30 session will be divided into one of three groups depending on ability. Riders may progress through the groups during the season and for those that are at the upper age and ability range for the Under 12s we will organise a gradual introduction to the Over 12s to aid progression.

Signing on

To speed up the signing on process and allow maximum riding time, PPYCC uses Signing On Cards for each rider. These will be issued once membership and payment have been confirmed. Signing on cards will be kept at the track and each rider’s card will be moved from the ‘Signing On’ card store to the ‘In attendance’ store as they make their weekly payment. The cards will allow riders to add emergency contact numbers and any important details, so that this information is readily available if needed during the session.
