Thanks very much to everyone who attended the AGM and Awards on the weekend, it was great to be able to meet in person this year! Thankyou to all our presenters for making it such a fun event, our volunteers for helping it to run smoothly, and to Anna Henderson and Olly Moors for not only providing masses of pro cycling kit for prizes but for presenting the awards and staying back to chat to our young riders. Anna very kindly signed a GB Cycling Team jersey for the club which will join our line-up of framed jersey awards for next year. We also had prizes provided by Hunt Bike Wheels, Nore Down Therapies, Brainy Bikers and some anonymous donors – thankyou everyone for your generosity.
And of course a huge well done to all of our award winners! If you missed the awards presentation then the Club Champions page has now been updated with all of the awards results. Photos from both PPYCC awards and the SCRL awards which happened afterwards can be found on Google Photos links below, many thanks as always to Pete Levenspiel our coach and photographer.
Following the AGM our Committee page has also been updated with the committee details for the year ahead. We’d like to extend a big welcome to our newly elected officials Helen Clarke and Claire Wheller who have very kindly taken on Club Welfare Officer duties. Thanks to Kim for performing this role over the past year and we are very pleased that Kim is remaining on the committee for 2022. Also a massive thanks to Charlie who has stepped back from the committee this year after many years of service to the club, however like everyone who steps down they never really leave and we’re very happy that Charlie has kindly offered to continue providing his excellent catering service at future PPYCC events! Ian has kindly offered to continue with kit duties but as a volunteer role rather than committee member for 2022, thanks Ian! All of the other committee roles were re-elected, so welcome back to Paul, Mark, Richard, Daisy, Anthony and Kim – thankyou everyone for your continued support.
For those award and raffle winners who were unable to attend the presentations, your awards/prizes are waiting for you this weekend at the final Saturday session of the year. If you can’t make it to that session then don’t worry, we will find a way to get it to you! We also have loads of skills and performance certificates still to hand out, so these can also be picked up this weekend and for anyone who doesn’t make it, we’ll pop them in the post the following week.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 30th for the last session at the track this year, maybe in your Halloween outfit, if you dare!
