Eight Miles Away project helping the homeless

We have been contacted by Anna Pryor who works at British Airways i360.

During lockdown the British Airways i360 are exhibiting paintings by local artist Tony Mills, the paintings are visible to people passing by the i360 .

Tony’s project, Eight Miles Away, is a series of paintings that he is going to silently auction at the end of this month, with all proceeds being donated directly to individual homeless people in Brighton. It’s a brilliant initiative and one that the British Airways i360 has been supporting since the first lockdown. Both the project, and Tony’s own story are evocative of current times for many in Brighton and beyond.

Notably one of the paintings, which are also available as prints, is of cyclists at the velodrome in Preston Park. Anna and Tony have asked us to help publicise the exhibition to the cycling club members and, we are sure they would be pleased if you can spread the word to friends and family.

You can find out more about the project and see the particular painting of the velodrome here:https://tonymills.com/ . We at PPYCC recommend taking the time to watch the 2 minute video at the head of Tony’s web page.
