PPYCC riders racing and sportive news!

PPYCC riders have been very busy with the new season’s racing and sportive calendars, and have been representing PPYCC nationally and regionally. Well done to all our riders on their participation, achievements and representation of PPYCC!

Adam Churchill competing in the West Drayton Specialized Crits Series – Event 2 on the 25th March, placed 7th in Youth A race.

On the 26th March, Lee Valley YCC hosted the 1st of the National Youth Circuit Series at Redbridge Cycling Centre.

Luke Goodwill competed in the supporting U12 mixedrace, with a field of 49 riders, finishing 12th overall in a hard race, well done Luke!

Rahul Fortescue Talwar, Freddie Newman, Lukas Nerurkar, Dylan Hicks and Josh Golliker competed in a huge field of 93 riders in the U14’s boys race. Unfortunately, through an unavoidable accident in front of him, Lukas crashed out of the race. Dylan and Josh, as 1st year U14’s rode hard but were eventually lapped (as were 45 of the riders in the group) by the main bunch. Rahul and Freddie stayed in the leading group throughout the hour long race, with an exciting sprint finish up the hill, with Rahul coming 4th overall, and Freddie finishing in 33rd place.

Unfortunately, with a maximum field of 102 riders in the U16’s, none of the PPYCC riders in this age group were able to secure a place, however, George Pittock, friends and co-competitor with several of our riders and who claims PPYCC as his second club, did ride in the U16’s, coming 83rd in a very strong and fast group, well done George!

Meanwhile, up in London, Freddie Newman, Lukas Nerurkar and Rahul Fortescue Talwar competed in track at Herne Hill 5th track day Youth Omnium, with Rahul coming 1st (3rd overall in Youth A and B), Lukas 2nd and Freddie 3rd in the U14, well done PPYCC!
