Racing Fun at Angmering; a report by parent Phil Burnett

Race Report –  Mosquito Bikes Angemering Youth Series April 6th

I thought fellow PPYCC members miught be interested to know more about the Monday night racing which has now started in Angmering and will run every monday evening till Sept 6th (apart from Bank Holidays) at 6.30pm.

The racing is organised by the Surrey League and caters for all Youth categories so is perfect for PPYCC riders. Held on a Go-Kart track the racing proved to be exciting and technical and was really fun to watch. The nice thing is that there is not just one race for each category. This was Thomas’s first time and he was thrilled to get the opportunity to compete in three events – a scratch race, a time trial and a handicap, so a bit like the Track league.

The turn out was very good with plenty of riders from Brighton Excelsior, AD Cycles and Palmer Park. Unfortunately Thomas was the only PPYCC rider so he felt a bit lonely. It would be really nice if we had a few more riders there representing the club and I would encourage anyone who has the time to give it a go. The racing starts at 6.30 and carries on till around 7.30 so we were back home in Dorking by 8.15.  The next event is on Monday April 27th, hope to see you there!
