Sat 15th April, Inner and Outer Ring Distance Challenge Time Trial

This coming Saturday 15th April the Inner and Outer Ring sessions will be run as a Distance Challenge Time Trial rather than the usual coached session.

Updated: to clarify the time trial is on road bikes for both Inner and Outer Ring.

The riders will pit themselves against the clock rather than racing against one another. Riders will set off individually at 10 second intervals within their age groups. We’ll record the time taken to complete their laps and publish the results. We hope to repeat this again before the end of the season for riders to see how their times have improved.

Riders will be given a race number at sign on to record their laps and time. The number will need to be pinned on the bottom left of their tops and returned at the end of the session.

Age groups and laps are below. Please could you check which age group your child is in to help speed up sign-on.

U8 born 2009 onwards – 6 laps
U10 born 2008 and 2007 – 12 laps
U12 born 2006 and 2005 – 18 laps
U14 born 2004 and 2003 – 24 laps
U16 born 2002 and 2001 – 30 laps

We’ll also run some Sumo games and a hill
climb challenge for the Inner Ring riders before and after their distance challenge.

We’d greatly appreciate as much assistance as possible from parents to help start riders and count laps.

Please remember to check your child’s bike and helmet before arriving at the track.
