Volunteer opportunities to attend the British Cycling Go-Ride Conference

Go Ride Conferences Saturday 8th March Dartford/Sunday 9th March Reading

British Cycling runs an annual conference for older youth members and adult volunteers and we are looking for further volunteers to take part in representing the club. This is especially recommended to people who have not had this opportunity before.

This is an excellent opportunity for young members to complete the training for the CAYV (Cycling Award for Young Volunteers). You need to be 13 to 18 years old to take part and wish to learn more about the structure of cycling as a sport and the club structure. The hours spent volunteering for the club can also count towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The CAYV itself is certificated at 12, 24, 36 and 48 hours of volunteering [with bronze through to platinum awards].

For adult volunteers the benefits are the same but the conference offers different workshops. The day is a great insight into the work done to support clubs by the nation’s most successful National Governing Body.

You can read more about the workshops and activities at the Go-Ride Conference on the British Cycling website.

We can send volunteers to Reading or Dartford and can sort out transport when we know who is going and who can drive.
