Omnium incoming! Weather and cake update

It’s nearly Omnium time! Entries are closed and we have over 70 riders entered on Sunday across the age categories, a strong turnout. This includes an impressive 14 riders from PPYCC and contingents from neighbouring regional clubs such as VCL, Sotonia CC, Hillingdon Slipstreamers, Lee Valley Youth, Palmer Park Velo and Team Ohten. We also look forward to welcoming those making the longer journey down from Wales, Midlands and Yorkshire and wish everyone a safe trip!

All riders have been sent their race manuals and instructions for the day, but for the benefit of our wider membership and community you can access the race manual online. We would encourage you to come and lend your support and cheer on all of the riders!

The weather is looking uncertain for Sunday. We have been blessed with sunny events in recent years and it’s been a long time since we had to cancel an Omnium or finish early due to poor weather, but it does happen on occasion. We will keep a close eye on the forecast and will send an update by email to all riders around 6pm on Saturday.

Cake donations on the day will be very gratefully received, these are always a big fundraiser for us. Please drop them off at the snack gazebo, we look forward to tasting some excellent creations as always.

A huge thanks to everyone who is volunteering their time both in advance and on the day, we couldn’t do any of this without you. You all have the rota for the day in your inboxes, please shout if you haven’t received it. We now have a great team in place to make the day a big success.
