Duathlon Session this Saturday

Duathlon Session this Saturday

This Saturday (6th September) we will be running a special session to prepare riders for the Preston Park Youth Duathlon, taking please this October.

Learning all the skills needed to tackle your first (or indeed tenth) Duathlon, the session will focus on transition, mounting, dismounting and (in maybe a first for PPYCC) running!

At Inner Ring the Duathlon Session will run for most of the allotted time, although we will also be running the usual cycling skills session at the same time for those that would prefer to stay off their feet for the duration of the session. At Outer Ring, the Duathlon skills will be for the first half hour, followed by a normal session for all. (Those that would like to opt out can also ride for the first half hour.)

The skills learnt in this session (especially quick mounting and dismounting) are equally useful for Cyclo-cross – so the session is recommended if you are taking your first steps into the winter cycling sport.

For most riders, it is best to arrive with flat pedals and trainers. Some older riders may want to change footwear in transition, in which case you will need to bring your usual cycling footwear, plus running shoes. If you require the help of a coach in changing pedals over, please arrive ten minutes early to the session.
