National Youth Track Championships

PPYCC riders have been regularly competing in races across the country and region throughout the season, and riders have been celebrating successes in races such as Spring in the Park, Goodwood, Angmering, Eastbourne and National Circuit series. My apologies for not posting reports regularly, but a continuous well done for all our riders, their participation and representation of PPYCC!

Last weekend PPYCC were exceptionally pleased to support four of our riders, Lukas Nerurkar, Freddie Newman, Finn Anderson Grout and Rahul Fortescue Talwar, who gained acceptance to compete at the National Youth Track Championships, through their brilliant racing at the regional omnium heats recently. The top four riders in each of the 6 national regions made it through to the finals, and this year PPYCC had the most riders in the club’s history representing the club, competing as, and with, the best youth track riders in the UK.

Rider Briefing pre-race

It was a beautiful sunny day, and competitors couldn’t have wished for better racing conditions. As with the regional omniums, competitors raced in 5 events throughout the day, amassing points from each event to decide the winners. This year riders had an individual TT,  Finn ready to go for his TT, placed 8th in this event, with an excellent time of 1:03.56, only 1 second short of the track record at HH!
