New season starts on Saturday 7th March!

As the days get longer and the temperature starts to rise (we hope!), we are looking forward to welcoming all riders back to the velodrome for another year of fun on the bike, skills development and racing.

The first session of the year will be on Saturday 7th March. Your child will remain in the same group as last year unless you have been contacted separately to discuss moving up to Outer Ring.

As those who attended the AGM will know, we have been working hard to maximise our club income through events, sponsorship and grants to ensure we can deliver cycling activities at the lowest possible cost to parents. Our success in this area has meant we can freeze our membership fees at £15 for another year. Any additional siblings are priced £5 a year. (There is an additional transaction fee of less than £1). Club session fees have also been frozen at £4 a week.

This year we will again be collecting the fee via SPOND. Membership runs from 1st March each year, which is the start of our club season and all memberships runs until the end of February of the following year. You will be shortly emailed a link from SPOND requesting payment. If you have not previously provided all details to SPOND you will be emailed a form asking for relevant information and to agree to the codes of conduct.

By completing the renewal form via SPOND you are consenting to that data being stored on the SPOND platform, information in respect of the security of SPOND, GDPR, privacy and DPA can be found at https://help.spond.com/app/en/collections/194806-gdpr-privacy.

Also, don’t forget that all riders need to have current membership for a National Governing Body, either British Cycling or British Triathlon, as membership includes personal liability insurance which we consider a necessary requirement for club membership.

There has been a recent update to the British Cycling system, which means child accounts now need to be managed by an adult account. As such, parents will need to register for a free ‘Supporter Account’ if they do not have a separate adult BC membership, after which they will need to link their child’s account to this ahead of renewal.

Any questions then please post on the PPYCC Whatsapp group chat or you can email John Rockliffe who is the club Membership Secretary at membership@ppycc.org.uk.
