As posted previously the AGM and Awards are next weekend, Sat 7th November at 3pm. This will be on Zoom and the link has been emailed to all current club members. If for some reason you did not receive the invite, please email chair@ppycc.org.uk.
The agenda is below. Usually this would be 2-3 hours long at Knoyle Hall with lots of tea, cake and time for socialising and catching up at the end of the season. Sadly we can’t do that this year, and we all know by now that no-one wants to spend 3hrs on a Zoom call! So it will be shorter than usual.
15:00 – 15:30 AGM – Annual reports from Chair (Mark A), Treasurer (Mark B) and Welfare Officer (Hannah), followed by election of committee. We recognise that this is the boring bit for younger members but we will aim to rattle through it pretty quickly, it may not take the full half-hour.
15:30 Quiz – Pete will kick off the fun by testing your cycling knowledge!
15:45 Certificate presentations – all riders who participated in a Saturday morning distance challenge or 1-lap time trial will receive a certificate with their fastest time for the year, Pete will walk through the results and the certificates will be posted out to riders following the meeting.
15:50 Update on our ex-riders – PPYCC have many riders who have carried on their cycling careers after leaving the club at 16, Anthony will do on update on their exploits.
16:00 Raffle (Pete/Mark) – Andy Neale has been selling raffle tickets at signon, if you haven’t been down to the track or missed Andy at signon, then you can buy tickets online during the coming week, they are £1 each or £5 a strip. Just send an email to chair@ppycc.org.uk with the number of tickets you want to buy and and we’ll send you a one-time payment link along with your raffle ticket numbers, this is administered through iZettle which is the card reader we use at the track so it’s all completely secure.

16:10 Awards presentation – Like every year we have trophies and plaques to present to all club championships podium finishers. We always have a range of other awards and despite losing most of the racing season to Covid (meaning there are no track league awards this year), we are pleased that most awards have still been hotly contested: coaches award, club order of merit, club rider award, best club performance and a number of national performance awards.
