Would you like to fix up a bike?

We currently have lots of junior road bikes that need maintenance before they can be loaned out to new riders, and are looking for willing volunteers who could help to get a bike ship-shape! The work will involve replacing brake blocks, gear cables and brake cables, checking tyres and maybe new handlebar tape or inner tube if needed. All materials will be supplied.

We have about 10 bikes to fix at the moment. Once we have a batch of bikes ready, we have organised a Cytech qualified mobile mechanic (thanks Rule5 Bikes!) who will visit the track and give the bikes a final once over, making any final adjustments as needed. The mechanic will certify that the bikes are ready to be released to new riders.

If you are handy with a bike and are able to help then please let us know at Saturday sign-on or email chair@ppycc.org.uk. You could either work on a bike on a Saturday morning while your child is riding, on a Weds evening while your child is racing (please bring your own Allen keys if so), or take a bike home to fix up during the week.

We have a lot of new Inner Ring members at the moment so will focus on the smallest bikes first in order to get these loaned out to our newest riders.

Thankyou!
