A new year brings new riding opportunities – track riding for youth and women at Lee Valley velodrome

Go-Ride Sessions at Lee Valley velodrome for youths

Sign-up for Go Ride cluster sessions at Lee Valley.

Regional track sessions for first-claim riders from South East region Go-Ride clubs. Open to riders aged 10-18. We will accept entries from non-South East members in the final week before a session. Run by Go-Ride club volunteer coaches  and supported by British Cycling regional development staff.

Please note, 10 and 11 year olds must have regional race experience from any discipline. For younger riders, we recommend getting started at outdoor tracks like Herne Hill Velodrome or Preston Park Velodrome.

Entry is £12. Shoes (£6) and track bikes (£10) can also be hired. Please arrange and pay for these at the velodrome reception on the morning of the session. Bikes can be used with Look Keo compatible shoes. Pedals can’t be changed.

Not yet confirmed, but these are expected to continue into April and May, depending on how they fit in with the youth omniums. Last year rider demand dropped off over summer, and so from May/June there will be a pause in the sessions until September. During that break time the British Cycling coaches will be running holiday programmes on the track (and road circuit and MTB trails at Lee Valley) for club riders.

For Thursday evenings, once Youth Track League finishes in March, there will be  club cluster sessions from 7-9pm, April-September, to provide some regular track time for riders, and to cater for those progressing from the Monday night after school track club, which has been very successful.

Go-Ride Sessions at Lee Valley velodrome for Women and Girls Sessions

The Sunday March 19th session is a SE women and girls session (will be open to book from next week). After this session Female sessions are part of the Lee Valley in-house schedule from April. They will be monthly, on Sunday evenings 7-9.  Bookings will be made through Lee Valley’s website.
