Mountain bike racing at Bedgebury 7th June

There is an mbt race at Bedgebury on Saturday 7th June. We are not being represented formally as a club but would be pleased to see any of our members racing there. Details below.

Go-Ride interclub. Round 5 of the go-ride interclub series hosted by Bedgebury Forest CC is on Saturday 7th June 2008. Venue and how to get there: Bedgebury Forest off Lady Oak Lane the B2079. To get there take the A21 and after passing by Lamberhurst look out for the B2079 on your left–off the A21-which is at the top of a rise in the road and signposted Bedgebury Forest. The site is on your right when on the B2079. At car park: To avoid paying £6 parking for the day tell the person on duty that you are taking part in the racing –might be useful to have a club jersey handy to wave. Signing on: The route to the signing on position will be signed from the car park and it is some way from the car park so if parents/supporters are on foot allow plenty of time to get to the signing on/race start area (same spot I believe). I suggest 20 to 30 minutes if walking. Sign on and practice from 10:00. No sign on or practice after 10:45. Bear in mind there could be quite a queue at sign on. Race start times: Under 10’s and under 12’s will be run separately and before the main events, so be don’t be late. All other events – under 14’s right through to veterans etc -will start from 11:00 with all these categories being on the circuit at the same time some point during the racing. 12-14 year olds (juvenile) will race for approx 35 minutes and 15-16 year olds (youth) approx 45 minutes.  Entry fees: there is no entry fee for under 10’s and under 12’s. The youth and Juvenile categories will have to pay £5. Don’t forget to take your license. Medals: We aim to present these on the day.  For those not familiar with Bedgebury there are woodland walks in the arboretum, bike hire for the forest family trails and ‘go-ape’ for those wanting to travel through the trees on wires. Regards Eddie LandGo-ride interclub co-ordinator.
